Planning information only

CoopSizer gives planning information for backyard chicken coops based on published university extension guidance. It is not engineering, legal, veterinary or building code advice. You are responsible for checking local ordinances, zoning, permits, setbacks and building codes, and for building safely. We do not guarantee any result for your flock.

Estimates

Sizes and costs are estimates. Cost figures multiply calculated quantities by price ranges that you can change; they are not quotes. Verify prices at your local store. The calculator is provided as is. If you find an error, tell us by replying to any CoopSizer email.

Personal use

The guides, the calculator and the future plans are licensed to you for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may build the coop described in a plan you bought for yourself. You may not resell, redistribute or publish the plans, or use them to build coops for sale, without written permission. Short quotes with a link back are fine.

CoopSizer Plans

These terms apply to CoopSizer Plans:

• 30-day refund. If you are not satisfied, ask for a refund within 30 days of purchase and you will get a full refund.
• Personal use. One purchase is for one household and the coops you build for yourself.
• Not engineered drawings. Plans are generated from your inputs and published extension guidance. They are not engineered drawings. Check local building codes, HOA rules and ordinances. Build at your own risk.
• Check local rules. A plan does not replace a building permit or an inspection where one is required. Check your local ordinances and codes before you build.
• Price. $19 (USD) for a coop plan and $29 for a coop and run bundle, one time. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies.

Independence

CoopSizer is an independent resource. Sizing guidance is based on published university extension recommendations; check your local ordinances before building. Not affiliated with any hatchery, retailer, or extension service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, CoopSizer is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the site, the calculator or the plans. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
